The students researched a country in the encyclopedia and took notes. Then they created a notecard which they used while giving a "mini speech" to the class. Each student told things about the country that would interest other third graders. Some students visited ethnic restaurants, with their parents, to taste some other foods of their region while picking up a fresh loaf of bread to share with the classes. Meanwhile other students helped make the bread for their project, while Mom and Dad took digital pictures of the undertaking, and then together they created a book of "how to instructions" for their bread making. "Breads Around the World" is a parent child project, and the children enjoyed partnering with their parents, and they were quite proud of their end products, both edible and visual.
